Callerz vs PitchCom and Subscription Pitch Calling Apps
Electronic pitch calling used to mean a hardware kit. Now it can mean the phone in your pocket and the watch on the catcher's wrist. Here is how the options line up.

| Hardware you need | Your Android phone and a Wear OS watch | Proprietary transmitter and receivers | Phone plus a smartwatch or Bluetooth earbud |
| Android phone | Yes | Not applicable | Some. Signal Call and SeamCall are iPhone only |
| Wear OS watch | Yes | Not applicable | Some. Signal Call and SeamCall are Apple Watch only |

When PitchCom or GoRout hardware makes sense
Dedicated hardware has its place. The receivers run on their own radios and batteries, need no phone in the dugout, and are the systems many college and pro leagues standardize on. If your league mandates a specific system, or nobody on the staff carries an Android phone, a hardware kit is the honest answer. Budget four figures and a per-receiver price for every player who needs one.
When a subscription app makes sense
Some apps bundle pitch calling with scouting, pitch logging and post-game analytics, and several are built for iPhone and Apple Watch first. If you want the data side and your team runs on Apple, that monthly fee may be worth it.
When Callerz makes sense
You coach fastpitch, someone in the dugout has an Android phone, and the catcher can wear a Wear OS watch. You want the call on the wrist or in the ear with nothing to steal, and you would rather pay once than every month. Callerz also speaks Spanish, needs no account, and collects nothing. iPhone and Apple Watch support is coming soon.
