Callerz Privacy Policy

Callerz is a pitch-calling app for fastpitch softball, consisting of an Android phone app and a Wear OS watch app. This policy describes how Callerz handles your information. The short version: Callerz does not collect, store, or share any personal data.

Data we collect

None. Callerz does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, usage analytics, device identifiers, or diagnostics. The app requires no account and no sign-up. The only device permission it requests is microphone access, described below.

Microphone (push-to-talk)

The phone app has a Hold to Talk button. While you hold it, Callerz captures audio from the phone's microphone and plays it live through the Bluetooth audio device connected to your phone, such as a catcher's earbud. Audio flows directly from the microphone to that Bluetooth device and nowhere else: it is never recorded, never stored, never sent to the watch, and never transmitted off your phone. The microphone is used only while the button is pressed, and never in the background. You can decline the microphone permission and every other feature of Callerz keeps working.

How pitch calls travel

When you select a pitch and location, that selection is sent directly from your phone to your paired Wear OS watch(es) using Google Play services' Wearable Data Layer (over Bluetooth or your local connection between paired devices). Pitch calls are never sent to our servers, because we don't operate any, or to any third party. Calls exist only momentarily on your devices and are discarded when cleared or replaced.

Third-party services

Callerz uses Google Play services on your device solely to deliver messages between your phone and paired watches. Google's handling of device-level services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's privacy

Callerz collects no data from anyone, including children. Because no information is collected, none is knowingly collected from children under 13.

This website

This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Links to Amazon on the gear page are affiliate links; Amazon's own privacy policy applies once you are on Amazon.

Changes to this policy

If Callerz's data practices ever change, this policy will be updated and the effective date revised before those changes take effect.
